Admired around the world for their extensive orchestral repertoire, the Manchester-based Hallé here turn their attention north of the border, presenting Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy - a work solely based on wholly authentic Scottish melodies - and Mendelssohn’s Scottish Symphony - a much-loved piece that deposits its listeners in the mists of the Highlands.

The concert begins with one of Edward Elgar’s most popular compositions, Serenade for Strings.
Hallé Assistant Conductor Euan Shields - winner of the Siemens Hallé International Conducting Competition 2023 - is the man at the helm. The soloist is Berlin-based Chinese violinist Ning Feng (pictured).
