Lichfield's The Hub at St Mary's has launched its very own stand-up comedy club, The Alter Comedy Club, starting this month.

Priding itself on relaxed vibes, reserved seats and the UK’s finest award-winning acts, over the next few months they will be bringing a host of comedy from award winning acts including favourites from TV and the Edinburgh Fringe.

A spokesperson from The Hub says:

"We’ve wanted to deliver a high quality comedy club at The Hub for quite some time. It was important to attract the highest calibre of acts and really build links with the best comics on the circuit, so asked our friends over at The Leicester Comedy Festival for some help. They have helped us curate some incredible lineups and are supporting us achieve our vision to create a vibrant and high quality comedy club that translates into the hottest tickets in town. The best of UK comedy served up in a candlelit, cabaret-style setting in the glorious surroundings of The Hub. What’s not to love?! See you at The Alter."

The opening line-up on 30 March includes ‘Live at The Apollo’ favourite Tez Iylas, Musical Comedy Award winner Katie Pritchard, Liverpool Comedian of the year Callum Oakley headlined by Edinburgh comedy award nominee, Jessica Fostekew (Motherland,Cuckoo, QI, The Guilty Feminist).

Future acts already confirmed include comedy double act SHELF (Finalists: Funny Women 2020; Musical Comedy Awards 2020) and comedian/presenter, Stephen Bailey, (Date or Drop BBC 1, Live at the Apollo BBC 2, Strictly: It Takes Two BBC 2, The Stand Up Sketch Show ITV2, Love Island: Aftersun ITV2).
