The 'Techie' Family Tour

Join the resident dsigners for an interactive family tour, delving deeper into the museum's collection and answering the question ‘What is Tech?’

Make a colourful Artbot!

Build an ingenious ‘ArtBot’, using a cup, tape, paper and pens, different weights, and an all-important battery motor. Then, watch it weave a unique and colourful artwork as it moves! 

Tourmaline & the Museum of Marvels Trail

Organised by Kids in Museums and Little Tiger, this national trail for families is inspired by Tourmaline and the Museum of Marvels by Ruth Lauren – a fun, feminist adventure series for children aged 9 – 12.

Pick up a free activity sheet and search for Tourmaline, her friends and an assortment of magical objects hiding in the Museum. Complete the spotter trail and get a free Tourmaline sticker! Families can also design their very own Museum of Marvels. Three winning designs will win a signed Tourmaline book bundle and a National Art Pass (Plus Kids), kindly donated by Art Fund.

'It's all in the Detail' Family Trail

See the car collection in a whole new way! Follow the trail of 'pods', sketching different elements of car design and answering questions along the way. You’ll explore grilles, wheels, wings and more! Along the way, collect letters which reveal the location of your final design challenge…
