Forming in 2022 and featuring two Rosies (Hood and Butler-Hall) and a pair of Rochdale musicians (Nicola Beazley and Robyn Wallace), this all-female four-piece have been hailed for producing an inimitable sound which manages to stay rooted in tradition while simultaneously bursting with contemporary appeal.

As the band’s name makes clear, the quartet’s guiding light is Rosie Hood, a former BBC Performing Arts Fellow and Horizon Folk Award nominee. Taking as her subject matter nature, human struggle, women’s voices and unheard stories, Rosie boasts a remarkable talent for interpreting traditional songs with a real dynamism and honesty.
