A Romantic ballet in which love triumphs over betrayal.

Premiered in Paris in 1841, Giselle tells the story of a peasant girl who takes her own life when she finds out that the man with whom she has fallen in love, a nobleman named Albrecht, is engaged to another woman.

After Giselle’s funeral, Albrecht visits her unconsecrated grave and finds himself in mortal danger: The Wilis, a sisterhood of ghosts who, in life, were jilted by their lovers, have returned to take their terrible revenge...

Adolphe Adam’s surreal romantic ballet is here presented by English Youth Ballet.
