Midlands Arts Centre is presenting Girls that Geek, an exploratory day that brings together industry professionals for a series of informal discussions and a careers panel that explores opportunities for women working in art and technology.

The event, which takes place on 10 February, is specifically designed for young women from school year 7 upwards who are considering their career choices and who would like the opportunity to learn from inspirational speakers.

The fourth iteration of Girls that Geek will focus on future employment for young women and in particular digital art forms - including music production, photography, virtual reality, television and film.

A series of exciting workshops and interactive events will take place with representatives from Aston University, Inside Theatre, Southbank Centre, STEAMhouse (part of Birmingham City University), Syntropy States, Warwick University and more.

Young women will have the opportunity to learn about exciting digital careers and working in technology, with topics covering Virtual Reality (VR) environments, television broadcasting, live performance, gaming, photography, music production, and more.
