The magic of Christmas is beginning at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery, where visitors are invited to meet Father Christmas in his traditional museum workshop.

The elves have been busily preparing to meet you and your family. Follow the flagstones, through the tree-lined shut, and enchanted stone archway and begin your climb up the original sweeping staircase.

Children are welcome to post a letter to Father Christmas - look out for the cosy post office on your journey. A cheerful Elf guide will lead you through to a wondrous workshop, crammed full of history and magic, to meet Father Christmas himself. Tell him your Christmas dreams and wishes and receive an early gift.

Keep the magic alive as you follow the Christmas trail, exploring the museum's fascinating galleries and try your hand at some of the free festive craft activities.

A delicious mug of hot chocolate, or a mulled wine and mince pie at the Stop Café, will complete your Traditional Christmas treat. And don’t forget to browse the traditional and indulgent gifts, books, and pocket-money treats in the museum's gift shop.

Various time-slots available from Wednesday 23 November to Friday 23 December. Book here.
